Congratulations to our Kapa Haka rōpu: In 2025, at Te Ahurei o ngā Kapa Haka o te Tai Poutini in Hokitika, we were awarded the Manaakitanga certificate for our friendliness and hospitality towards others. Of all of the certificates going on the day... we are so proud to have received this one.
We have been doing kapa haka at Karoro School for many years. At different times throughout the year we have whole school kapa haka, junior kapa haka and a senior kapa haka. The senior kapa haka work hard each year to compete in the Te Hui Ahurei o ngā Kapa Haka o Te Tai Poutini - West Coast Kapa Haka Festival. Whānau are very welcome to join our kapa haka.

Students in the kapa haka are eligible to receive the kaitātaki kōtiro and kaitātaki tama trophies for excellence in leadership, participation, performance, and commitment to the Karoro School Kapa Haka.
